Designing spaces.
Navigation systems.
By following the illustrations, or tracing a finger along the dotted line of the rocket in flight, you can find your way through the hospital, not just by reading signs, but by having a meaningful engagement with the space.
We have already seen positive first hand feedback from young people using this new navigation system.
Great Ormond
Street Charity Hub.
We hosted a series of workshops that included young people, patients, and our expert play team. These sessions were invaluable in understanding the emotional and practical needs of those who would be using the space. In response to the insights we gathered, we incorporated a variety of interactive features, such as games, wall spaces for drawing, a colouring area, and a device charging station. These features were designed to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment, promoting communication and offering a sense of ownership to patients and families.
Initially, this project was envisioned as a simple refresh of the existing space, utilising stickers and posters to convey messages. However, by taking a more holistic approach and addressing the needs of the community at GOSH, we were able to develop a solution that not only enhances the space but also, positive impact. Early feedback from patients and families already indicates the space is having a meaningful effect, creating opportunities for connection and expression.
